Mick Hennessy will be known to many as one third of the much lamented comedy trio Roaring Jelly.  His version of 'Valerie Wilkins' recorded way back in those heady days is still one of the most requested tracks on Mike Harding's Radio Two show. He used to jam with Colin and Steve Shorey twenty odd years ago at their well documented 'rock' sessions during various Broadstairs Folk Weeks.  His comment after being invited to play bass on Colin's birthday night was "I'd love to, but I'd better warn you, the last time I played bass was with you guys twenty odd years ago in Broadstairs."

Here are some of the pics his good lady Rosemary took of him not playing bass twenty odd years later at the Barge in Gillingham along with various other characters who happened to be there that night.

Actually, joking aside he did a cracking job on the borrowed four string that night, and even if he hadn't we were all too pissed to notice anyway.
